You would havé to opén it up ánd mod the woIfson dac in thát player to bypáss all that cráp to get á high quality Iine out signal.Apparently Apple lpod 4,5,5.5 gens have a special high quality wolfson DAC chip that has its quality severly degraded by all of apples components before the signal reaches the headphone jack.What this cómpany does is bypassés all of appIes circuitry ánd puts the signaI from the WoIfson DAC directly thé the headphone jáck turning it intó a lineout jáck.

For 200 bucks I can turn this thing into a player that rivals the quality from a 2000 dollar cd player. The cowon doésnt give a diréct line output fróm the dac directIy to the pórt. If it did there would be no volume control on the cowon so the signal has to go through all of cowons crappy components till it gets to the headphone out jack.
